TESTING AND ASSESSMENT
All 9-11 grade students will test throughout each school year.
Freshmen Year
Students will take the PSAT 8/9 in April. This test tells you things you need to know—to plan your high school courses, prepare for the SAT, or choose a career direction. Students will also take the NWEA in the Fall, Winter and Spring to measure students academic progress.
Sophomore Year
Students will take the PSAT 10 in the Spring. This test helps 10th graders build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school districts' high-priority issues. It is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years. Students will also take the NWEA in the Fall, Winter and Spring to measure students academic progress.
Junior Year
Students will take the PSAT on National Test Day in October: The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It's a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT®. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools. The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, writing skills. You have developed these skills over many years, both in and out of school. This test doesn't require you to recall specific facts from your classes.
In April of each year the juniors will take the MME. Day one the students will take the SAT plus Writing test, Day 2 they will take the WorkKeys test and than the students will be tested on Michigan Science and Social Studies portion of the test at a later date.
AP Testing
In May of each year students enrolled in AP courses at Nouvel have the opportunity to take the AP exam where they can qualify for college credit.
Current AP courses offered: AP English Literature, AP Biology, AP Chemistry (called H. Chemisty II in course book), AP Physics C, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP US History, AP Government.

ACT Testing
ACT results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science
The ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 30-minute Writing Test.

To Send Your Scores to Schools after you have tested
To send scores from a past test date to colleges, you'll need to log in on the ACT Website and click on Send My Scores. You can have your ACT scores sent to other colleges and scholarship agencies after you test in addition to the ones you selected when you registered or tested. Requests are processed AFTER your tests have been scored and all scores for your test option—ACT (No Writing) or ACT Plus Writing—are ready. There is a fee for this service.
SAT Testing
SAT test results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. The SAT is a national college admissions, The test has been revised and the New SAT test will begin to be administrated during the spring of 2016.
